Shri PratyayaAmrit is an officer from the Indian Administrative Service, Bihar Cadre. He has worked in various capacities in district administration, irrigation department, culture sports and youth affairs department, urban developmentand the erstwhile Bihar state electricity board. He has also taken up various responsibilities in central ministries such as commerce and industry, food processing and civil aviation. He has been responsible for rapid progress of road infrastructure in Bihar as Secretary, Bihar road construction department.

Presently, he is Secretary, Energy department, Government of Bihar and CMD of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited. Under his inspiring leadership there has been a rapid development of power scenario in Bihar. A large number of grid substations are being added to meet the objective of making power available to all. The rapid growth in demand in Bihar is an indication that power infrastructure has improved at an enviable rate.

Shri PratyayaAmrit has taken over the charge of Chairperson, Eastern Regional Power Committee with effect from 01.04.2016. Under his guidance, ERPC is committed to scale new heights of knowledge and initiative so that the mandate given by Government of India is faithfully served. His infectious zeal and hard work will help us achieve great feats.


Govt. of India vide its resolution F. No. 23/1/2004-R&R dated 25th May 2005 had established Eastern Regional Power Committee comprising the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa,


To undertake Regional Level operation analysis for improving grid performance. To facilitate inter-state/inter-regional transfer of power.


The secretariat of ERPC is headed by Member Secretary, who is an officer of Central Power Engineering Services (Group-A).
