Shri K B Jagtap, Member Secretary, ERPC, started his journey as Assistant Director in Central Electricity Authority, Ministry of Power, Government of India in the year 1999. He graduated from Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad, Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Maharashtra in the year 1994. He has a total 25 years of experience in Indian Power sector which includes around four years of experience in Southern Regional Power Committee, Western Regional Power Committee and North-East Regional Power Committee. He has served as officer officer on special duty for three years (2003-2006) on deputation at NTPC Unchahar thermal power project, Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh. He has also been served as Member convener of the safety audit committee for thermal power project constituted by CEA. The safety audit team successfully completed the safety audit of thermal power plants located in different region in the country. The work has been lauded by Ministry of Power. He has been dealt with subject such as Grid operation, protection, Safety and commercial matters in power sector. He is currently serving as Member Secretary, NERPC Central Electricity Authority, Ministry of Power, Shillong, Meghalaya since 2023. During his tenure has been successfully commissioned 400Kv BNC-Subansiri lines and increase connectivity to Arunachal Pradesh through 132 Kv Rowing-Chapakuwa and 220 Kv Kathalguri-Namsai transmission lines which has facilitated smooth transfer of power intra-state as well as interstate through commissioning of important transmission and grid element in NER region.
